TONY MORRIS
Journalist and Pedigree Analyst

Proven Sire. World Champion.

  • Champion European Middle Distance Horse, Best Older Male, Europe’s Horse of the Year. Timeform Rated 136.
  • Magnificent Arc de Triomphe winner by record equalling six lengths. Exceptional Juddmonte International winner, coasting home by 7 lengths, beating the winners of the Eclipse Stakes, Irish 2,000 Guineas & St James’s Palace Stakes (all Gr.1s).
  • Proven Sire of Group 1 winners, such as Classic winner TIN HORSE, globetrotter PRESVIS (x2) and European Champion Sprinter SAKHEE’S SECRET.
  • In 2011, PRESVIS won the second Group 1 of his career in the Dubai Duty Free, after taking the Gr.2 Al Rashidiya at Meydan.
    TIN HORSE
went on to win the Poule d’Essai des Poulains Gr.1 (French 2000 Guineas) after a most consistent juvenile career, winning his first two starts at 2, and finishing a strong 2nd in both the best juvenile races in France, the Prix Morny Gr.1 and Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère-Grand Critérium Gr.1.
    PERMESSO
had opened the ball this year by winning the Listed Premio Coppa d’Oro di Siracusa on his 6-year-old return.
NICE DANON, who had controversially been demoted to second after scoring in the Zukunfts Rennen Gr.3 as a 2-year-old last year, started his season with a place in the Grosser Preis der Krefelder Wirtschaft Gr.3, and went on to score in Listed company in the Premio d’Estate LR, at San Siro.
ROYAL ROCK, already a Group winner in previous year, took his own succession by winning the 2011 renewal of the Bengough Memorial Stakes Gr.3 at Ascot.
His 2-year-old crop is headed by the smart SALURE, who topped his 2-year-old career by a close third in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère-Grand Critérium Gr.1 at Longchamp on Arc day, having lead all the way and hold on well to the fast finishing winner Dabirsim. He is one of the three top Italian representant of SAKHEE‘s newest generation, that also includes the blacktype pair SAKTADA and SINDACO.
  • Other Stakes winners include SAMUEL (Gr.2, 2010), PERMESSO (multiple Listed winner & 2nd Derby Italiano Gr.1), etc.
