Shadwell Stud have entered into a joint venture with the Haras Cuatro Piedras that will see the 2009 Shadwell Middle Park (Gr.1) winner AWZAAN stand in Uruguay in 2012.
Richard Lancaster, the Stud Director has signed a contract on behalf of Shadwell with Pablo Salomone, the owner of Haras Cuatro Piedras while in Uruguay last weekend. Shadwell were sponsoring the Gran Premio Cuidad de Montevideo (Gr.1) Copa Shadwell, one of the races on the card of the Gran Premio Jose Pedro Ramirez (Gr.1) race day at Maronas racecourse in Montevideo.
“We are delighted to be able to make available a Group 1 winning 2 year old such as AWZAAN to the breeders in Uruguay. We are extremely pleased with the enthusiastic response from the local breeders. There has also been interest shown from breeders in Argentina and Brazil which is most encouraging” said Richard Lancaster.
